The tragedy took place yesterday on engineering firm Reynolds, Smith and Hills, the place where Rodriguez was an engineer for 11 months before he was finally fired in June 2007 because of his performance wasn’t up to the company standards, so he was terminated.
After the incident the police pursued Jason Rodriguez and found him on his mother’s house three hours latter and the police requested him to come out while he was seen through window. And he obeyed the request and surrendered peacefully.
When Jason Rodriguez was questioned on what was his motivation for doing that, he replied “Because they left me to rot.”
Demings said Rodriguez entered the firm in a downtown office tower with a handgun and start shooting there, but investigators are not sure what his motive was.
“This is a tragedy, no doubt about it, especially on the heels of the tragedy in Fort Hood that is on our minds,” Demings said. “I’m just glad we don’t have any more fatalities or any more injuries than we currently have.”
