Putney Swope, A Black Man On Chairman Board
Putney Swope, It’s the story of one (the only) black man names Swope, who sits on the executive board inside advertising firm, and all of sudden is charged for the death of the board chairman. After the said unanticipated death, the funny thing is each board member are in one tune to elect Swope. But the corporation regulation disallows to vote one person only for the chair, as the result, each member must vote in a secret ballot for the person that no one else would vote for: Putney Swope.
And as it’s predicted Swope was finally elected to be the chairman and his first move was renaming the business “Truth and Soul, Inc.” And then he substitutes all the member except the white employees and declares that the company won’t take business from companies that produce alcohol, war toys, or tobacco.
Somehow the company is getting a remarkable success under his commission but the success was responded with unexpected consequence because it’s consider “a threat to the national security” by United States Government and put Putney Swope in a big trouble
